AI BEACON #02 - The Action Surface

This week, the agent stack picked up a new layer: interactive "action surfaces." MCP Apps and Claude's interactive workplace apps both push agents beyond text - into buttons, forms, and workflows you can review right inside the conversation. At the same time, Mastercard is building payment rails for agent checkout - and consumers are starting to say, "yes, but only if I can cancel."The implication is straightforward: autonomy will scale through interfaces + permissions, not just better reasoning. If an agent can click, send, or pay, your product is no longer the model - it's the control system wrapped around the action.
